Effective June 19, 2026 · Version 2026-06-19 (the version your account records when you accept it at onboarding)
These Terms govern publishing manga on the MangaLoft publishing platform at mangaloft.org, operated by Electricwoods LLC (“MangaLoft”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you create an artist account and publish content. They are separate from the terms that govern the MangaLoft drawing app itself. By onboarding an artist account in the MangaLoft app, you accept these Terms, and the app records your acceptance and this version.
You create an account by signing in with Apple and claiming a public handle. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by Apple and by the law where you live) to hold an account. You are responsible for your account, your handle, and everything you publish through it. Keep your Apple Account secure; activity through your account is treated as yours.
MangaLoft v1 permits all-ages content only. You may not publish sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise mature/NSFW content, and you may not publish anything illegal. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate this policy. We may change the scope of permitted content in future versions; material changes are made through the version-and-acceptance process in Section 9.
You keep ownership of the work you publish. You represent that you own or are properly licensed for everything you publish, including any characters, references, fonts, and assets it contains. To operate the service, you grant MangaLoft a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your published content on mangaloft.org and in related interfaces (such as series and library index pages, thumbnails, and social preview images). This license exists only so we can show your work to readers, and it ends when the content is removed, except for copies retained as required by law or held in routine backups for a limited period.
Content you publish is publicly readable on the internet at mangaloft.org. It can be viewed, linked, indexed by search engines, and cached by third parties. Removing or unpublishing content stops us from serving it, but it cannot retract copies others may already have made or that search engines may have cached.
We moderate the platform. We may remove or restrict content, revoke active sessions, suspend or ban accounts, and retire handles. Confirmed violations accrue strikes against an account, and reaching the threshold results in an automatic ban and removal of the account’s content. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Some bans are durable and may prevent re-onboarding. For copyright specifically, see the Copyright & Takedown Policy.
Every episode page has a Report button for flagging infringing, prohibited, or illegal content. We screen uploads and remove illegal content. Where the law requires it, we detect, preserve, and report illegal content — including reporting child sexual abuse material to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the appropriate authorities — independently of any copyright process. How we handle your data is described in the Platform Privacy Policy.
You may request account deletion at any time from the MangaLoft app. Deletion takes your content offline promptly and removes your account and data after a short wind-down period (about 30 days), except for records we must retain by law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On removal, published URLs may be retired or redirected.
We may update these Terms. Material changes bump the version, and the app re-presents the Terms so you can accept the new version before you publish again. The version your account has accepted is recorded for compliance.
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that published content will always remain available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MangaLoft and Electricwoods LLC are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, and our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount you paid us for the platform in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free platform, may be zero).
You are responsible for the content you publish and for your compliance with these Terms and the law. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to hold MangaLoft and Electricwoods LLC harmless from claims arising out of content you publish that infringes the rights of others or violates these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and Electricwoods LLC agree that the Tokyo District Court shall be the agreed court of first instance for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform. This does not deprive you, as a consumer, of the right to bring or defend a claim in the courts where you live where mandatory consumer-protection law (including Japan’s Consumer Contract Act) so provides.
