Feedback & Tasks

What we're really asking for

We can find crashes ourselves. What we can't get without you is the artist's reaction — how it feels to draw with MangaLoft. As you use it, notice:

Rough, honest, half-formed thoughts are perfect. You don't need to be thorough or "test" it — just draw, and tell us how it went.

How to send feedback

When something goes wrong, a quick note like this helps a lot:

Label it [bug] or [feel/usability] so we know which hat to wear. Both are welcome.

Three guided tasks

These walk the real workflow so your feedback is grounded in actually making something — and so different testers exercise the same paths. After each, jot the reflection prompts.

Task 1 — Your first page (≈5 min)

  1. Create a new document (any paper size).
  2. Draw a rough sketch of anything — a face, a prop, a scribble.
  3. Add a new layer and ink over the rough on it.
  4. Undo/redo a few strokes (⌘Z / ⌘⇧Z on Mac, or the Undo/Redo buttons in the toolbar on iPad).

Reflect: Did drawing feel natural (pen weight, lag, undo)? Was adding/using a layer obvious?

Task 2 — A panel page (≈10 min)

  1. Use the frame tool to create a panel, then split it into 2–3 panels.
  2. In Drawing mode, tap a panel and draw inside it.
  3. Add a screentone to one panel (pick a family, draw a region).
  4. Add a line of text/lettering somewhere on the page.

Reflect: Was making panels intuitive? Did tap-to-draw-in-a-panel make sense? How was placing a tone and text — did anything surprise you?

Task 3 — Finish & export (≈5 min)

  1. Export the page you made.
  2. Try both Bounds options — "For Print" and "For Display" — and open each result.

Reflect: Were the export options clear? Did "For Print" vs "For Display" mean what you expected? Was the output what you wanted?

Optional stretch

Add a second page; try the path (bezier) tool and the ruler; copy/paste between pages or documents. Tell us anything that felt missing for your way of working.

One ask

Don't run our QA for us — we're not looking for an exhaustive bug list. We want your reaction as an artist: what you'd want fixed, what you'd want more of, and whether you'd reach for MangaLoft again. That's the feedback that shapes where this goes.

Thank you.
